Lecture: Reallabor Utopiastadt Wuppertal

Fast facts

  • Date & Time

Information

A train station of yesterday as a laboratory for the city of tomorrow. The Mirker train station in the middle of Wuppertal is now "Utopiastadt". An urban space that committed citizens have conquered for the neighborhood. A nucleus of creative urban development. Utopiastadt is intended to be a place where people work on utopias.

What can be derived from the experiences in Wuppertal for the UrLab, the Urban Resilience Laboratory in Dortmund's Nordstadt district?

In this lecture, Charlotte Siefen will provide insights into the history and content of the "Utopiastadt" real-world laboratory from the perspective of someone involved.

The event is part of the UAS course "Forum" in the Master's degree program Social Sustainability and Demographic Change. However, it is open to anyone interested in gaining an insight into the work of the UrLab.
