Ruhr area: Strong location for studying

Published

The Icaros device at Fachhochschule Dortmund is suitable for both virtual and medical applications - for example, for the precise diagnosis of poor back posture.

Strong industry, close university networks, international cooperation and a lot of experience with change: The Ruhr region is the ideal place to study. The Ruhr University Alliance is now emphasizing this with a new campaign.

Just in time for the start of the application phase, the Hochschulallianz Ruhr is launching its new campaign - and is focusing on the strengths of the region. On the posters, young faces confidently claim: "I want the world to be open to me." Directly below is the answer, laconic, dry and self-confident: "Then stay at home."

Because the Ruhr region is an excellent starting point for a great career: This is where three high-performing universities of applied sciences meet a region on the move. Bochum University of Applied Sciences, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences combine their strengths - and make it clear: if you are looking for prospects in a region of the future, this is the place to be.

The Ruhr region has already proven that it is capable of structural change - from a coal mining area to an industrial and innovation region. Now, in the midst of the digital transformation, this experience offers a real locational advantage. What's more, the region is in an excellent economic position, with numerous industrial companies and an excellent network between universities and industry.

Together, the three universities send a strong signal to prospective students: the Ruhr region is not just a place for studying and training - but for new beginnings, prospects and careers.
