Places of understanding: Debate on the climate crisis

Fachhochschule Dortmund is a partner of the #VerständigungsOrte dialog series in Dortmund. With this initiative, the Protestant Church, Diakonie and its local cooperation partners want to create a space for social exchange about crises and conflicts.

The topic in Dortmund is: "The future will be hot! Who pays for the climate and who wins?"

When it comes to the climate, the fronts seem more hardened than ever. Between activism, relativization, resignation and anger, the question arises: Who is actually paying for climate change, who is winning - and what is saving the climate worth to us?

At the #VerständigungsOrten on 22 September 2025 from 7 to 9:30 pm in the Stadtkirche St. Reinoldi, the organizers promise an honest exchange about the - financial, social and ecological - costs of the climate crisis and transformation; with renowned representatives from politics, science and society. Above all, however, the focus is on talking to each other, on people from different backgrounds and with different opinions - about experiences, fears and future prospects.
