Summer Salon 2025

The salon series continues in the current summer semester. The 17th edition of theSocial Philosophy Salon deals with a socio-political topic that is constantly gaining new topicality: In a comparison of welfare states, Sweden is still regarded as the trend-setting alternative to the German model. But is this assessment still true? What is the situation in the far north in terms of social policy convictions and political regulations?

"Market liberalism has also found its way into Sweden and is contributing to growing social tensions," states Dr. Stefan Sjöberg. The international comparative welfare state researcher from the University of Gävle/Sweden is a guest at the faculty - digitally only, but he will be available for discussion after his input lecture. The salon will focus in particular on the effects on social community work and the possibilities of countering increasing social inequalities and challenges in a creative way.

Invitation to all interested parties

The Faculty of Applied Social Studies not only invites interested students and colleagues from the faculty to the Salon, but also welcomes members of other faculties and guests from outside the university.
