Information
For four years, Ukraine has been courageously fighting for its freedom, independence and democratic values. The anniversary is an occasion for a sign of solidarity.
The Auslandsgesellschaft invites you to a reading and discussion with Stephan Ort. The author and journalist has a penchant for unusual travel destinations and couchsurfing. He has traveled to Iran, Saudi Arabia and Russia. In 2024, he was in Ukraine, a country at war. How is that possible?
He stayed there for seven months, witnessed the brutal missile attacks and the unparalleled resilience of the people. He will talk about his experience on February 25 during his reading at the Auslandsgesellschaft. Stephan Orth, born in 1979, worked as an editor in the travel section of SPIEGEL ONLINE from 2008 to 2016.

Prior to this, the Auslandsgesellschaft will send a publicly visible sign of solidarity at 4 pm. Visitors are cordially invited to actively participate; the day before (24.2.26) they will have the opportunity to write down their wishes and messages for Ukraine in the foyer of the Auslandsgesellschaft. On February 25, the wish cards will be released into the sky with balloons - as a sign of solidarity, peace and hope for a free future.
