Information
In addition to top acts such as Max Giesinger, the DORTBUNT city festival will also feature an exclusive UAS façade mapping on Friedenplatz. The people of Dortmund can become part of it themselves and voice their wishes for the city in a telephone booth.
What do the people of Dortmund want for their city? A black telephone box in the middle of Friedensplatz with a bright red telephone will become a place for secret wishes, visions of the future and dreams. They are to become part of the façade mapping developed by storyLab kiU with students from the Faculty of Design at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts led by Harald Opel. Anyone who submits their personal thoughts on Dortmund's future by Friday, May 2, 2025, at 3 p.m. has the chance to have their recording included in the current mapping.
Picture rush to the past and future
The approximately ten-minute 3D mapping will be shown on Friday and Saturday (May 2/3, 2025) after dark (between 9 and 10 p.m.) on Friedensplatz. Eight high-performance projectors will first project an image of the old town hall onto the façade. Tirzah Haase, actress and familiar voice of the streetcar stop announcements, is also the narrator of the 3D mapping's captivating visual journey. The city's new design, historical and current personalities, meeting points and squares whizz past the viewer like a rollercoaster ride.
The telephone booth will also remain on Friedensplatz during the city festival, and the line will also remain open for requests. These can then be used for the next facade mapping.
