About the project
The automotive industry is characterized by highly distributed development. Companies from the supplier industry in NRW are increasingly taking on the role of system integrator in this development network, as it is no longer possible to develop all system components in-house due to the complexity of the product. This applies in particular to innovative electromobility vehicle concepts.
The development quality of the integrated system must be ensured through an extensive process landscape. Development processes and standards to ensure functional safety (e.g. ISO26262) are very important and cost-intensive, especially in the field of electromobility. The introduction of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) enables holistic system development of complex mechatronic products and offers the potential for more effective quality assurance.
The aim of the project is to develop a modular electromobility platform that supports the validation and verification of electromobility software and hardware components as a hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop platform in the MBSE development process. The platform consists of a powertrain with motor, battery and power electronics and an ECU structure. The configuration, test management and measurement data acquisition of the system as well as the provision of test stimuli are integrated into the MBSE tool chain. The system should also be usable for training courses, in teaching and as a demonstration platform, e.g. for trade fair appearances. The results of the project are therefore
- modular laboratory setup with drive train
- Matching control unit system with sensors
- Integration of software tools for control and configuration
- Training documents, tutorials and examples/demos as online material
