The important topic of accessibility at universities was the focus of a public symposium to look at it from different angles.

The event entitled "Barrier-free teaching and learning" on 7 May 2025 was organized by Fachhochschule Dortmund in cooperation with its partner university UAS Technikum Wien. Employees from the Faculties of Applied Social Studies and Information Technology, the Ruhr Master School and the Institute for Higher Education Didactics "Institute for Higher Education Didactics" took part in the program.

All interested parties were invited to attend the symposium, either on site or online. Those who took part in person also had the advantage of trying out the "experience area", where visual and walking impairments were simulated, for example.
