REJOIN: Alumni mentoring in the starting blocks

Published

The new REJOIN alumni mentoring program for students in their final year of study will be launched at the Faculty of Computer Science in the winter semester 2025/26. Alumni will return in a new role - as companions for the next generation.

With REJOIN, the faculty offers individual support in the crucial phase between studying and starting a career. Students benefit from the experience, insights and networks of experienced graduates. The program promotes direct exchange between the university and the world of work, strengthens the faculty's network and contributes to a lively alumni culture.

For many alumni, participation is also an opportunity to give something back: they themselves once faced similar questions - and can now provide guidance with their knowledge, experience and personal view of career paths.

The focus is on the mentoring tandem: Mentee and mentor meet as equals, share experiences and work together on goals. Over the course of one to two semesters, the mentors accompany their mentees individually - whether on site or digitally - and provide support with professional orientation, personal development and the next step in their career.
