Fachhochschule Dortmund is strengthening its international partnerships. The double-degree agreements with renowned European universities were recently extended. These include the West Ukrainian National University in Ternopil and the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture in the Ukrainian capital.
"The partnerships with Ukrainian universities are particularly important in these challenging times," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel, Rector of Fachhochschule Dortmund. "We stand in solidarity with our Ukrainian partners and together we are sending a powerful signal for international academic cooperation."
In addition to the two universities in Ukraine, the double degree agreements with the Universidad del País Vasco in Bilbao (Spain) and Latvijas Universitāte in Riga (Latvia) were also extended.
"Best opportunities on the international job market"
"A double degree opens up the best opportunities for our graduates on the international job market," explains Prof. Dr. Stephan Weyers, Vice-Rector for Teaching, Studies and International Affairs at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Students who participate in a double degree program receive both a degree from Fachhochschule Dortmund and one from the partner university. This gives them a decisive competitive advantage: "Employers are looking for internationally experienced staff. In addition, networking during their studies strengthens their personal development," emphasizes Stephan Weyers.
Bachelor's students at the Faculty of Business Studies can currently complete their studies on the International Business Management study program with a double degree. Students studying for a Master's degree can complete the "European Master in Project Management (EuroMPM)" at the Faculty of Business Studies and the two study programs "Embedded Systems Engineering" and "Digital Transformation" at the Faculty of Computer Science. Information on the double degree programs is available from the faculties and from the Student Advisory Service at Fachhochschule Dortmund. (Opens in a new tab)
Internationalization is an important building block for Fachhochschule Dortmund. "We see ourselves as a large regional university in an international educational and professional landscape, as a window to the world," says Stephan Weyers. This window should be open to students and prepare them optimally for their future careers. The new agreements will be extended automatically in future and no longer need to be renegotiated. This underlines Fachhochschule Dortmund's commitment to sustainable internationalization.
