BAG Prax - nationwide expert forum

The BAG Prax is a nationwide specialist forum for practice advisors and practice offices at universities where social work studies are offered. Its members are practice advisors who are the central contacts for students, lecturers and instructors from social work institutions in their respective faculties and departments. Members are state and church universities with undergraduate generalist Bachelor's degree courses in social work, which lead to state recognition with integrated practical phases or postgraduate in the form of the professional recognition year.

The Faculty of Applied Social Studies is a long-standing member of the BAG Prax.

Networking and intensive exchange

During the conference in Dortmund, in addition to networking, the participants dealt intensively with topics such as state recognition for social work graduates, quality standards for awarding state recognition and the development of a quality offensive.

The guests were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Katja Nowacki(Opens in a new tab) , Dean of the Faculty of Applied Social Studies at Fachhochschule Dortmund. "The practical phase of social work studies is an essential part of the course and the awarding of state recognition," Nowacki emphasized. It is important to maintain and further strengthen the quality of the practical phase. "The exchange with the BAG is very important for us in this regard," concluded the Dean.

In addition to the colleagues from the universities, representatives from the Department of Social Work(Opens in a new tab)  and from the Federal Board of the DBSH(German Professional Association for Social Work(Opens in a new tab) ) were also guests, so that networking could also extend beyond the specific circle of the BAG.
