Hans Uhde Prize 2025 honors academic achievements

Four alumni of Fachhochschule Dortmund were honored with the Hans Uhde Prize for their outstanding academic achievements in engineering during a ceremony. The Hans Uhde Foundation also honored four graduates of TU Dortmund University and an employee of thyssenkrupp Uhde on May 8, 2025.

After greetings from Dr. Tim-Philip Eisenhardt, Head of Human Resources and Dortmund Site Manager of thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH, and Prof. Dr. Manfred Bayer, Rector of TU Dortmund University, start-up founder Maximilian Spiekermann reported on the project "Simplyfined - Transfer of excellent research for a sustainable chemical industry". Together with his team, he has developed a process that optimizes vegetable oils into a bio-based platform chemical and thus opens up new paths to sustainable products for the chemical industry.

Among those congratulating this year's award winners were UAS Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel and Guido Baranowski, Chairman of the University Council of the UAS.
