Information
Spring marks the start of the cycling season. Time to take another look at your bike. Together with the Allgemeiner Deutscher Fahrrad-Club (ADFC), Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts is offering a free bike check-up and helmet advice.
On April 25, 2023, the mobility management team and the university's own start-up service SQuArE, which operates a bicycle workshop at Max-Ophüls-Platz, will be at the "kostBar" canteen on the Emil-Figge-Straße campus with the ADFC. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the experts offer help for self-help and support interested parties in getting their bikes in shape. For example, brakes are checked and adjusted if necessary, loose bolts are tightened, saddles and handlebars are adjusted and tires are patched. The necessary tools and small spare parts are available free of charge. New tubes, brake pads or entire lighting systems are not included.
The event on May 2, 2023 will also take place in the courtyard at the Sonnenstraße campus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students, teaching staff and employees, as well as all Fachhochschule Dortmund residents, are invited to have their bikes checked and carry out small repairs themselves under supervision. Registration is not required.
On both dates, the ADFC also offers helmet advice and explains how to adjust your helmet correctly. Then nothing will stand in the way of your next bike tour.
