Impression from the exhibition

The "DEIN*ORT" project by Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts invites you to the interactive unfinished exhibition "Solution found - Lösung gefunden?!" at uzwei in Dortmund's U.

In collaboration with Q2 students from Leibniz-Gymnasium, children from the HoKiDo daycare center and Friederike Asche from Fachhochschule Dortmund, exciting photographic works and experimental solutions to barriers in public spaces were created. The exhibition presents these creative approaches together with many other perspectives that have been developed in the DEIN*ORT research project since 2021.

Impressions from the exhibition

Rethinking barriers and solutions

In her doctoral thesis, Friederike Asche presents initial experimental ideas for solutions and invites visitors to develop these further in the exhibition space as a living "barrier-solution domino". The aim is to make barriers visible, develop possible solutions together and find new ways for more inclusion in the urban space.

"The pictures by schoolchildren, daycare children, senior citizens and barrier experts offer surprising and enriching perspectives on obstacles and opportunities in public spaces," explains Friederike Asche. The Unfinished exhibition is part of the BMBF research project DEIN*ORT, in which urban spaces are transformed to promote inclusion.

Interactive participation

The exhibition not only invites visitors to discover, but also to actively participate. From the end of January, interested parties can share their own experiences with barriers and ideas for solutions anonymously via the project website "Please Ramp _ bitte baue Rampen" (https://projekt-deinort.de/de)(Opens in a new tab) .

Funding and partnerships
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and supported by scientific partners and committed teams and stakeholders. Friederike Asche (concept, implementation, curation) is responsible for the implementation, supported by M. Jallow (coding) and J. Schneider (transcription) and the project management team. Also involved are the wood workshop of the Fachhochschule Dortmund at the Faculty of Architecture as well as science-practice partners and cooperation partners as well as individual committed actors in the project.
