Fast facts

Information

From June 2 to 13, 2025, the traveling exhibition for the German Brick Award 2024 will be on display in the foyer of the Faculty of Architecture at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. On display will be the award-winning works from the renowned architecture competition, which is held every two years by the Federal Association of the German Brick and Tile Industry.

Following the award ceremony in Munich in January 2025, the prize-winning projects will now also be presented in Dortmund - including outstanding designs that stand out for their design quality, constructive innovation and responsible use of brick as a building material.

Opening of the exhibition and short lectures

The faculty cordially invites you to the exhibition opening on Monday, June 2, 2025, starting at 7 pm. The faculty's award-winning young architects will be giving insights into their award-winning work from 6 pm:

  • Yannick Pickhard, Master's graduate and lecturer at the faculty, will present his award-winning design for the renovation of a prefabricated building in Leipzig-Grünau.
  • Dayna Hülsevoort, a Master's student and also a lecturer, will present her project for the reconstruction of the Poolstrasse Synagogue in Hamburg, for which she was awarded the student prize.
  • Prof. Jost Haberland will also talk about the "Potsdam Synagogue Center" project, which was awarded the main prize in the "multi-layered wall" category and was realized by his own office.

The exhibition is open to the public. All interested parties are cordially invited to be inspired by the variety and quality of the contributions.
