The motto of this year's Dortmund Science Conference is "Education in Transition - Shaping the Future in Challenging Times". Fachhochschule Dortmund is represented on the stage by Chancellor Svenja Stepper and Prof. Dr. Viola Hartung-Beck from the Faculty of Applied Social Studies.
The major social changes, crises and upheavals that we are seeing around the world are having an impact on the way education can succeed, including here in Dortmund. Together with the participants, the 7th Dortmund Science Conference aims to discuss current challenges in the field of education and find solutions for Dortmund. Dortmund's scientific community, in particular the scientific field of school and educational research, will provide valuable input from current research for this discussion.
- At the welcome talk at 10 a.m., UAS Chancellor Svenja Stepper will join Lord Mayor Thomas Westfal, TU Rector Manfred Beyer, Master Plan Commissioner Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Herbert Waldmann and Sebastian Schalkau, Chairman of the Dortmund Foundation.
- In the afternoon at 2.30 p.m., Prof. Dr. Viola Hartung-Beck will present her research on crisis-proof structures and give a keynote speech on the topic: "Making education crisis-proof - institutional resilience as a prerequisite for educational institutions as learning organizations".
- Prof. Dr. Viola Hartung-Beck will also be part of the subsequent closing discussion "Education in transition - shaping the future in Dortmund in challenging times". Ileyda Yılmaz will also report on her participation in the Fachhochschule Dortmund's TalentScoutng program.
