Information
Fachhochschule Dortmund once again invites you to the 10th lecture series in the field of robotics, organized by Dr. Tai Fei (deputy professor for computer vision and robotics) and Prof. Dr. Jörg Thiem (Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer, speaker of the Robotics-AG and member of BitLab). This event will present the latest developments and technological advances in robotics, which are increasingly being used in the automotive industry and in disaster control.
Modern mobile robot systems increasingly rely on a combination of radar, lidar and camera technologies to ensure precise perception of the surroundings. These technologies are particularly important in autonomous driving, as they place high demands on signal processing in order to manage complex traffic situations safely and efficiently. Advances in signal processing and the use of intelligent robotics approaches create a basis for greater safety and efficiency - whether on the road or in dangerous operations such as fire rescue. A particular highlight of this year's lecture series is the FireBot project, an autonomous system for early fire detection and firefighting that uses AI-supported methods to detect potential dangers at an early stage and independently initiate preventive measures. In addition, innovative developments such as sparse arrays in the radar sector will be presented, which enable more precise environmental sensor technology in the automotive sector and significantly improve object detection. The event offers a platform to discuss these advanced technologies and their challenges and to exchange ideas with leading experts on the future of intelligent robotics.
The Robotics Forum will take place on Monday, 18.11.2024, from 14:35 via WebEx.
The lectures will be held in English and are primarily aimed at researchers and students. However, all those interested in technology, such as high school students, who would like to deepen their curiosity and actively participate in the exchange with questions are also very welcome.
