The cooperative study program
Fachhochschule Dortmund offers the possibility of completing certain study programs as a combined study program to accompany a career and family. In addition to self-study components, which make up around 70% of the combined degree course, there are regular attendance events, which account for around 30%.
The combination of theory and practice as well as the acquisition of interdisciplinary skills required by Business Studies and politics is taken into account in a special way. The disadvantages of a purely distance learning course are avoided.
The combined study program offers an ideal opportunity to combine family and career with a course of study:
- The on-campus events usually take place every two weeks. In the case of the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, you can also expect two full-day revision sessions. Furthermore, examinations are also taken on 2-3 Saturdays per semester, making it easier to organize childcare.
- Self-study also offers a high degree of individual flexibility, as there are no fixed study times.
- The combined study program is also a possible form of professional qualification during parental leave.
The part-time study program
The part-time study programs are offered with attendance classes during the week. They are not combined study programs.
Part-time employment is possible alongside part-time studies, but must be coordinated with the time requirements of the study program on your own initiative.
You can find detailed information about a study program in the respective program profiles.
