Abstract

From November 20th to 21st, I had the pleasure of leading a workshop at NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) in Milan, as part of their Workshop Week, an interdisciplinary program that brings together students from BA and MA courses. This event was made possible thanks to the invitation of Roberto Maria Clemente, professor at NABA and founder of Fionda Studio in Turin, and Francesca Spiller of Reading Room Milan.

The workshop, titled HAPPY REALITY? — How AI is Changing the Landscape of Design & Typography, explored the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, typography, and design. Together with the students, we created a library of realities and typographic works using AI tools. These outputs were then deconstructed and reassembled, sparking discussions about the future of design in the AI era.
For the final presentation, we constructed a large inflatable volume. The installation served as a metaphor for AI and its interplay with inner and outer realities—how algorithms dictate what we perceive, often in an opaque and untransparent manner. It provided a thought-provoking backdrop for reflecting on the complexities of design in the context of artificial intelligence.
