About the project
Studienstart Ruhr - measure as part of the RuhrFutur education initiative
From school to university: in order to make this transition and the start of studies smoother, the universities in the Ruhr region support their students with numerous offers. "Studienstart Ruhr", a measure of the RuhrFutur education initiative, is now developing these further.
The first phase of studies is crucial for a successful course of study. The seven RuhrFutur universities, including Fachhochschule Dortmund, have already launched many individually tailored (counseling) offers for their heterogeneous target group. First-time graduates, students with professional experience who do not have a high school diploma or new immigrant students benefit, for example, from preliminary mathematics courses, support for learning techniques and self-organization skills and peer mentoring.
The common goal: to provide all students with the best possible support. With "Studienstart Ruhr", Fachhochschule Dortmund, Bochum University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Dortmund University of Technology, the University of Duisburg-Essen, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences and Arts want to strengthen their good cooperation as part of RuhrFutur. To this end, they will compile, systematize and make their concepts transparent. In this way, the respective offers for the introductory phase of studies can be innovatively further developed in future, taking into account the results and experiences of all universities.
What part does the FH play?
Fachhochschule Dortmund is involved in the creation of a map in which the universities make their offers, measures and projects for the introductory phase of studies visible. The Faculty of Applied Social Studies is involved in particular
