In the first issue of Hummelfisch in 2025, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and give you an outlook on the upcoming activities and dates in the area of sustainability and climate protection.
Climate protection management continues in facility management
The year begins with good news: climate protection management will be funded by the BMWK for another three years. This means that the project is now entering the implementation phase and will therefore be integrated into Fachhochschule Dortmund's facility management from the beginning of 2025. With this step, Fachhochschule Dortmund is sending a clear signal of its commitment to climate protection and its climate adaptation activities.
As part of the second, three-year funding phase, Dorothee Albrecht and Karen Müller will continue to work on anchoring climate protection management more firmly in the institution.
Sustainability Week from May 19 to 22, 2025
Once again this year, the Sustainability Week from 19 to 22 May 2025 invites all interested parties to a varied program! Together with TU Dortmund University, the Studierendenwerk Dortmund and the ASten, we are organizing a varied program that encourages participation and involvement.
Our mobile sustainability office "Soffi" will be present throughout the week as a central contact point on the EFS campus. You can look forward to exciting activities such as the Repair Café, a flea market, the Sustainability Market, cooking courses and inspiring talks. The full program will be announced in good time.

A special highlight of the week is the presentation of the "Impact Cup" sustainability award, which honors outstanding commitment in the field of social and ecological sustainability. We cordially invite you to take part in this special event!
Current status of the HRK audit "Sustainability at universities" and further development of the sustainability strategy
We are delighted to be taking part in the pilot phase of the HRK audit "Sustainability at universities". We are currently nearing the end of the self-reflection phase, during which we worked on the audit guidelines together with numerous committed participants. A big thank you to everyone who has supported us!
The next step in the audit process is counseling by external experts, which will take place from May 13 to 15, 2025.
At the same time, we would like to press ahead with the further development of our sustainability strategy. If you are interested in getting actively involved, we look forward to hearing from you at csr-officefh-dortmundde Let's shape a sustainable future together!
12th meeting of the social responsibility focus group on 23.01.2025
On January 23, 2025, we will meet for the 12th and final meeting of the Social Responsibility Focus Group - and at the same time we will enter a new phase! At this meeting, we would like to talk together about the future course of action, as the structures at Fachhochschule Dortmund will change a little with the University Development Plan (HEP) 2025-2030.
The focus group, which has now grown to an impressive 124 members, will continue to play an important role in the sustainable development of the university. We therefore cordially invite everyone to join us from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Senate Hall (Room F212, Sonnenstraße) to plan the next steps together.
If you are not yet part of the group but would like to participate, just write to us - we will be happy to add you to the ILIAS group. We look forward to your participation!
Soffi at the NRW Building Fair from March 14 to 16
Our mobile sustainability office "Soffi" will be represented together with the City of Dortmund in the entrance area of the NRW Building Fair. We are looking forward to using the trade fair as a platform to present sustainable topics and talk to interested parties.
