There are many global challenges - but how do we deal with them? The Nordstadtgalerie, in collaboration with the Faculty of Applied Social Studies, invited people to four events in order to highlight opportunities for action in everyday life and raise awareness of problems.
The poster exhibition "75 Years of Social Work", which was created to mark the faculty's anniversary, ran parallel to the four event dates. To kick off the event on June 5, 2024, Dorothee Boecker(Opens in a new tab) , a qualified social worker, offered a workshop on discrimination, racism and colonialism. Participants explored various forms of discrimination in open discussions.
On the mornings of 13 and 20 June 2024, four dedicated student groups presented their final projects, which were developed in a course taught by Dorothee Boecker and Prof. Dr. Michael Boecker(Opens in a new tab) and each dealt with a central global challenge. On the afternoon of June 13, visitors had the opportunity to repair broken objects with the help of the FabLab in the Nordstadtgalerie. While a small water fountain was made to work again, a new balcony handle, among other things, was created in the 3D printer.
