Nine representatives from regional companies and institutions visited the Fachhochschule Dortmund and the Faculty of Information Technology for an exclusive discussion and a tour of the Faculty of Information Technology’s laboratories. Topics included the faculty’s academic programs and opportunities for collaboration.
Prof. Dr. Andreas Becker, Prof. Dr. Karsten Lehn, and Prof. Dr. Puian Tadayon gave the guests an insight into the faculty’s teaching and research areas. They demonstrated that the faculty’s strongly industry-oriented curriculum and projects offer numerous opportunities for collaboration.
The event was hosted by the Laboratory for Computer Vision and Robotics and the BitLab for Extended Reality, Mobility, and Robotics. The lecturers gave their guests a tour of both labs and explained the current research projects and their potential.
Fruitful Discussions
The guests were Dil Ahmad and Robin Ebbinghaus from EXCIT3D GmbH, Markus Bölte from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief, Anna Eckert from snap GmbH, Matthias Haack and Norbert Pahlke from the Dortmund Fire Department, Roman Pilgrim from mxr storytelling GmbH, Markus Rall from the German Institute for Virtual Realities, and Rasmus Schimmelpfeng from Morpheus Logistik GmbH.
The guests and lecturers engaged in an open, intensive discussion. In a relaxed atmosphere, they identified concrete areas of collaboration for joint projects.
The Transfer Office at Fachhochschule Dortmund organized the event. Claudia Scholz and Patricia Lübke welcomed the participants and provided information about the Transfer Office’s responsibilities and services.
The “Lab Discussions” are regular events aimed at giving companies practical insight into the research world at Fachhochschule Dortmund and opening up new avenues for collaboration.
