New partner university in Australia offers a great welcome and various cooperation opportunities
The new partnership between the Faculty of Applied Social Studies(Opens in a new tab) at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the University of Western Australia(Opens in a new tab) (UWA) in Perth, Australia, is fun and enables intensive international cooperation at various levels.
University with a great reputation
Over the past few years,Prof. Dr. Nicole Tigges(Opens in a new tab) has not only succeeded in winning a university from the so-called "Group of 8"(Opens in a new tab) , the most renowned and research-intensive universities in Australia, for a cooperation, she is also a welcome guest in the School of Health and Clinical Sciences(Opens in a new tab) at UWA, which also includes Social Work and Social Policy.
Participation in symposium
This year, Nicole Tigges and a delegation from UWA traveled to Sydney for the annual Australia & New Zealand Social Work and Welfare Education and Research(Opens in a new tab) (ANZSWWER) Symposium to give a total of four presentations on the topics of school social work and professional attitudes (also in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Stefanie Rosenmüller(Opens in a new tab) , Simone Weis and Sandra Holzkamp from the Faculty of Applied Social Studies).
School social work in Germany as a role model
Nicole Tigges is supporting the development of a National Association of School Social Work in Australia, which is currently being formed based on the German model and is attracting international attention. She is also involved in a research project on the role of school social work and its professionalization, and next year a cooperative English-language textbook will be published with Australian and German participation, which will also be used in the teaching of the Faculty of Applied Social Studies.
