Second edition of the dictionary published
The first edition of the dictionary was created as part of an interdisciplinary teaching project by the Faculties of Applied Social Studies(Opens in a new tab) (Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kuhlenkamp(Opens in a new tab) ) and Design(Opens in a new tab) (Prof. Sabine an Huef(Opens in a new tab) ) at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The second edition has now been published and is freely accessible.
The dictionary is intended to contribute to barrier-free communication using plain language
Barrier-free communication aims to promote social participation for all and remove barriers to participation. Easy-to-read language consists of a combination of texts written according to the rules of easy-to-read language, associated illustrations and an optimally perceptible layout.
Participation of external experts
The following external experts contributed to the book: the test group for plain language of the Christopherus-Haus Werkstätten Gottessegen(Opens in a new tab) , Dortmund location, Katharina Gschwendtner(Opens in a new tab) and Simone Fass(Opens in a new tab) for the illustrations, and Kirsten Czerner-Nicolas(Opens in a new tab) as an expert for plain language.
