Applying from Abroad - Master's Program

Here you will find information about applying for Master's study programs at Fachhochschule Dortmund for international applicants.

Preliminary Examination Documentation (PED) for International Applicants

If you did not earn your relevant college degree (e.g., bachelor’s degree) at a German university, you will need a VPD certificate from uni-assist to apply.

Important: The VPD does not replace the application to Fachhochschule Dortmund.

Therefore, two steps are necessary for a successful application:

1. Apply for VPD through uni-assist
Submit your application for preliminary evaluation documentation to uni-assist well in advance. Processing your VPD application typically takes 4 to 6 weeks after you submit your online application. You can apply for the VPD at any time.

2. Apply to Fachhochschule Dortmund
In addition, apply within the application deadline via the Fachhochschule Dortmund and Arts’ admissions portal. Upload all required documents as PDF files online. Sending documents by mail is not required.

Language Proficiency Certificates

You do not need to provide proof of language proficiency when applying. Proof is only required at the time of enrollment. You can find out what language proficiency is required on the respective program page.
