Doctoral student representation

In January 2025, the new doctoral student representatives were elected for the next two years. It serves as a point of contact for doctoral candidates, provides strategic impetus in the Advisory Board of the School and is part of the jury for doctoral funding. It also strengthens the interdisciplinary networking of doctoral candidates.

Regulars' meetings and general assembly

The doctoral student representation regularly invites doctoral students to get-togethers in order to promote interdisciplinary networking among doctoral students.

On 18.09.2025, the doctoral student representation invites you to a plenary meeting from 17:00 to 18:30 in room 1.29 in Joseph-von-Fraunhofer-Str. 23. Afterwards you can exchange ideas and network at the Bergmann Kiosk (and in bad weather in the fuel) from 7 pm. Our principal, Ms. Appel, will also be present for the informal part of the event.

For registration and other topic suggestions, you can send an informal e-mail to promovierendenvertretungfh-dortmundde.

The committee

The doctoral student representatives are represented with two voting seats on the Advisory Board of the Graduate Center and two people take part in the jury meetings for doctoral funding. It counsels the coordinating management of the Graduate Center and invites doctoral candidates to a plenary meeting at least once a semester. Two representatives and two deputies are elected by the doctoral candidates every two years.

The presentation of the first elected doctoral student representatives took place at the 2021 New Year's Reception, after which elections were held again in January 2023. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the previous doctoral student representatives once again for their commitment.

The last new election took place in January 2025. The newly elected doctoral student representatives are now Robert Kremer, Kathrin Breitenbach, Benjamin Bracke and Sairah Bostanci.
