Preliminary course in mathematics

Many computer science students have massive problems with mathematics in their first semesters. In the preliminary mathematics course, you can refresh your basic mathematical knowledge and build a solid foundation for your upcoming computer science studies. The main topics are set theory, fractions and powers, solving equations and important functions (e.g. exponential functions, logarithms, trigonometric functions). Participation in this preliminary course is strongly recommended for all first-year students.


Course program

The preliminary course will take place from Monday, 08.09.2025, to Friday, 12.09.2025, from 09:00 to 16:00.

Meeting point for the 1st event is Monday, 08.09.2025, at 09:00 in lecture hall A.E.01.

Registration for the preliminary course

You can register for the preliminary course from 01.09.2025 in the ILIAS system with your FH ID. You should also register for an exercise group of your choice in the preliminary mathematics course.
