Information
The Electrical Engineering trade fair in Dortmund will once again attract decision-makers from the electrical industry in 2025. As a central trade fair, it offers an ideal platform for representatives from the electrical trade and industry. Architects, planners, energy consultants and energy suppliers take the opportunity to find out about innovative technologies. The trade fair focuses on key future areas such as building technology, energy technology and industrial technology, with smart living, energy efficiency and process automation taking center stage.
At stand 6W42 in hall 6, Fachhochschule Dortmund will be presenting pioneering projects and research.
These include a system for agricultural irrigation using the LoRaWAN protocol, which offers an efficient and low-energy solution for controlling irrigation systems using distributed soil moisture sensors.
The MoRoP (Mobile Robot Platform) is a joint project of Professors Andreas Becker and Jörg Thiem. Acquired for both research and teaching, the robot is used to demonstrate the principle of self-propelled robots and the associated sensor technology and to familiarize students with it in project-based work. Similarly, specific use cases in disaster scenarios, such as earthquakes or major chemical incidents, in which aid workers can be supported without putting other human lives at risk, are always kept in mind during development. This allows the MoRoP to move freely in its environment and map it. In cooperation with biomedical engineering, contactless examinations of injured persons can also be carried out.
Furthermore, a demonstrator for a VR headset that enables the integration of real rescue robots into virtual environments will be presented at the Fachhochschule Dortmund stand. This technology makes it possible to test and optimize robot systems before they are used in real life.
Another highlight is the Audi Q7 research vehicle, equipped with state-of-the-art sensor technology and an autonomous high-performance processing system, which offers valuable insights into data generation and analysis as well as the development of AI models in teaching and research.
The presentation of these projects at Fachhochschule Dortmund illustrates the university's commitment to smart living, energy efficiency and advanced technology development.
