At the MittelstandsMAKERTHON 2026 at Fachhochschule Dortmund, students work in interdisciplinary teams over three days to develop solutions for a total of eleven real-life challenges faced by SMEs - including those from

- Dortmund Fire Brigade,
- TRILUX,
- Bigskills,
- H&S Hard- & Software Technology,
- CUNA Products,
- ITB Ingenieurgesellschaft für technische Berechnungen,
- Marchi Group,
- GRIP Handling Technology,
- ELC Schulz and
- ENTEGRO.
Supported by experts from science and practice, creative ideas are developed at the interface of technology, business studies, digitalization and sustainability.
At the same time, we offer morning workshops on all three days for pupils, school classes and teachers interested in STEM - including campus insights and the opportunity to look over the shoulders of the student teams at work.
