Information
How do people with disabilities who are deprived of their liberty fare? Are detention rooms barrier-free? How can participation and resocialization succeed? The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Disability Equality Act (BGG) provide clear guidelines on this. And implementation? "These are topics that both law and curative education, which as a holistic pedagogy deals with all disability-related facets, have not dealt with or have dealt with insufficiently," says Prof. Dr. Christine Graebsch. The lawyer teaches at the Faculty of Applied Social Studies at the Fachhochschule Dortmund and heads the Prison Archive - an institution that aims to shed light on the reality of prisons.
