As the path to studying can be more complicated for professionally qualified students, we would like to use the digitally available workshop to provide answers to the most common questions that professionally qualified students ask themselves. We also focus on their personal decision-making process with the arguments for or against studying as well as their fears and challenges.
Video workshop for prospective students
The workshop consists of five videos, which can be accessed individually. The experience report by student Maximilian Kleist rounds off the workshop.
1. studying without a (technical) high school diploma
2. study opportunities at Fachhochschule Dortmund
3. access routes for vocationally qualified people
4 Study: What does that mean?
5. who can advise/support?
6. student experience report
This is how Maximilian Kleist describes his decision to study as a so-called vocationally qualified student without a (technical) Abitur.I come from a traditional working-class family. For me personally, it was already clear during my school years that I would complete a vocational training course and then work in the profession. That's why I could hardly imagine going to university at first. But my curiosity quickly changed my mind. It has always been important to me not only to know that something works, but also to understand how and why it works. This is precisely my main motivation behind studying.
