Constructive design of architecture and society
The Master's study programs in the Faculty of Architecture are designed to intensively deepen and specialize existing specialist knowledge. As a result, students develop an understanding of complex processes and are able to deal constructively with changes within architecture as well as within society. Graduates can apply their knowledge in architectural practice as well as in research and development.
A good exchange between students and lecturers is important to us. The Faculty of Architecture is closely integrated into the city and its surroundings. We benefit from the good reputation of Fachhochschule Dortmund. The exchange with experts from the fields of production, application and planning guarantees a high degree of innovation, knowledge and experience transfer. Close cooperation between teaching and professional practice is at the heart of our teaching concept. Internationality
Courses taught in English
Internationality is also becoming increasingly important in architecture. In order to prepare you comprehensively for this development and the international market, we are currently developing English-language lectures and seminars at our faculty.
Research
Master's thesis in research possible
The practical relevance of the degree courses is not only promoted by the topicality of the subjects and (supra-)regional projects and collaborations, you should also experience architecture as an exciting field of work in your Master's thesis. For example, you can examine new areas of application or developments in research and discuss them in your Master's thesis.
Career Service
Deepening skills and knowledge
The Career Service at Fachhochschule Dortmund supports you in expanding your skills and knowledge in a wide range of areas. For example, you can take advanced foreign language courses in English or Spanish. There are opportunities to learn project management or expand your communication skills with courses in open-ended communication, conversation skills or conflict management. Technical specializations are also possible. You can obtain a European Computer Driving License (ECDL course) or improve your academic writing skills with Citavi and LaTeX courses, for example.
