The Preliminary Review Documentation (VPD) from uni-assist

uni-assist e.V., the processing and service center for international college applications, acts as an external partner for Fachhochschule Dortmund and handles international college applications.

Verification of Eligibility for College Admission (HZB)

To study at Fachhochschule Dortmund, you must have an academic qualification comparable to a German Abitur or the university of applied sciences entrance qualification. This is your university entrance qualification (HZB). uni-assist reviews the documents of international applicants applying for the first semester who did not obtain their university entrance qualification in Germany. After reviewing the documents, uni-assist issues a preliminary review document (VPD), which you then use to apply to Fachhochschule Dortmund. The university makes the final decision regarding admission to the program.

Additional Information

  • uni-assist charges a processing fee for the evaluation of your transcripts. You must pay this fee to uni-assist by the deadline. Please note that your application cannot be processed without this payment. Further information on the payment(Opens in a new tab) 
  • Fachhochschule Dortmund accepts preliminary examination documentation (VPD) for up to 1 year after issuance, provided there have been no changes to your university entrance qualification or master’s entrance qualification, or to the admission requirements.
  • Fachhochschule Dortmund does not accept any VPD that was applied for at another institution of higher education.

Simply submitting a request for preliminary review documentation to uni-assist does not count as an application for a study program at Fachhochschule Dortmund. You must always submit an application through the admissions portal.
