On December 3, 2024, we went on an excursion to Leipzig together with students from the Georg Simon Ohm Nuremberg Institute of Technology to visit the Museum of Printing Art and get to know the art of printing there in a hands-on way. The museum was founded in 1994 and transferred to a private foundation in 2000. On four floors, around 90 functioning machines illustrate 550 years of printing history.

Under the guidance of the workshop managers, we had the opportunity to work on the machines ourselves. Using wooden letters and lead typesetting, we designed and printed our own posters, which showed us the technical requirements and complexity of traditional printing. Photos Workshop Markus Lange
