I am an industrial engineer specializing in mechanical engineering and completed my doctorate at the University of Kassel between 2009 and 2015 on the topic of "Influence of project management maturity on project success". After working in industry, mainly as head of product development projects in the automotive/special vehicle construction context (including HELLA), I was appointed to Fachhochschule Dortmund in 2022.
The main focus of my teaching is on project management. Students and theses supervised by me have already been awarded prizes (Andreas Winkelbach, German Project Management Award of the GPM, 2011, Master's thesis category; Anna Lucia Romero Müller, Soroptimist Club International Dortmund Sponsorship Award, 2024, Master's thesis) and resulted in publications (e.g. Aschoff et al., 2013, Tailoring company-internal project management standards for energy plant construction projects. Project management in the energy sector, Springer: Berlin, 125-145).
Together with my team, I am currently focusing on the following research areas in particular
- Project management of digital transformation projects
- Agile/hybrid project management
- Project management in product development
I have corresponding networks in industry/business (thyssenkrupp Digital Projects, Vorwerk, ...) and in academia.
