Curriculum Vitae

Prof. Dr. Henning Kalis studied physics at TU Dortmund University from 2007-2012 and graduated with a master's degree in theoretical solid-state physics in the context of stability testing of measurement-based quantum computers. This was followed by a doctorate in experimental atomic, molecular and optical physics in the field of quantum simulation using surface ion traps at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg im Breisgau from 2012-2017. After working in industry in the fields of optical design (of micro-optics), optical simulation (wave and ray optics) and tolerancing of optical systems in Germany and the Netherlands, he worked as a development manager for inspection technology at a large mechanical engineering company in Dortmund before taking up his professorship.
