"Think like a boss" is the motto of the interdisciplinary business game competition "Westenergie Manager Cup" 2025. Students from Fachhochschule Dortmund, TU Dortmund University and ISM Dortmund can put their knowledge to practical use. Cash prizes with a total value of 3,000 euros are up for grabs.
For several weeks, the participants slip into the role of the management of their own fictitious company in small groups (3 to 5 people). They make all operational decisions independently, from personnel planning and the marketing budget to production capacities and research and development expenditure. Students from all faculties at Dortmund's universities can put their skills to the test.
On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, the "West Energy Manager Cup" will start with a kick-off event at TU Dortmund University. The main round will then begin over four match periods. The teams will enter their decisions in the digital management cockpit every week until June 11. The ten best teams will qualify for the final on June 26 and 27 at Westenergie's headquarters in Essen.
This year will also see the return of the "Champions League": Former finalists from the past 17 years have the chance to make it to the final again in a separate category.
