A dragon, a lion and a culinary idiosyncratic family were the stars of Reading Day at Fachhochschule Dortmund. Rector, Chancellor and a former department head brought them to life.

Rector Prof. Dr. Tamara Appel and Chancellor Svenja Stepper did not rely on the radiance of their titles to captivate their young audience on the colorful AStA seat cushions in the library at EFS 44 on Friday, November 21. Instead, they had chosen their reading carefully and, like the third reader Martin Hübner, used their scenic and acting talents.

If the book is called "Dragon Furzipups", Svenja Stepper may have thought, then certain acoustic effects are part of it, and encouraged the listening children and parents to enrich the soundscape with their own interpretations. Tamara Appel, on the other hand, appealed to children's curiosity about unusual foods with "The Olchis", as the Olchis have a fondness for things like shoe soles and rusty metal. Martin Hübner, former head of department, demonstrated great vocal versatility with "Genug gebrüllt, Löwe" and intoned lion, flamingo, elephant and the others in a zoologically accurate and true-to-life manner.

Sonja Wentzel and Bülent Cengiz from Family Services organized the afternoon, the cushions, pretzel sticks, cookies, tea and coffee, library director Mario Hütte provided the appropriate space for the event and the AStA provided the cushions.
