Test phase: Scopus database with AI module

Published

The library has already been offering access to the Scopus citation and abstract database for several years. Now institutions can integrate the "Scopus AI" module into the database. This enables AI-supported searches that can help researchers to identify innovative research topics. In addition to a content summary of relevant documents, users receive tips for further research questions, information on experts for the respective topic, a concept map that visualizes important connections and much more.

The integration of Scopus AI is associated with additional costs, which are added to the general license fees for the database. For this reason, the library would first like to have the AI module tested by researchers (and other interested parties) at Fachhochschule Dortmund. For four weeks - up to and including December 4, 2025 - you will have time to try out the AI search and give feedback to the library team. Based on this feedback and the usage data, a decision will then be made as to whether Scopus AI should be made available in the longer term (initially for one to three years).

We would like to know whether the AI module makes your research in Scopus easier and why this is (not) the case. Does it provide you with helpful information that you would not have found using the normal Scopus search? What other advantages and/or disadvantages do you see?

You are welcome to send your feedback by e-mail to bibfh-dortmundde . Please note that in order to use Scopus - whether with AI or without - you must be connected to the Fachhochschule Dortmund campus network.
