Guest researcher at the Faculty of Architecture

Published

The Faculty of Architecture welcomes Dr. Charlotte Rottiers! She will be a visiting researcher at the Faculty of Architecture for three months.

Dr. Charlotte Rottiers is an architectural historian and researches how art and architecture convey cultural and political identity. After completing her doctorate on Belgian diplomatic architecture at the KU Leuven (2024), she continued her research at the Academia Belgica in Rome and at ETH Zurich. During her stay, she developed a methodology to investigate how identities were transported and negotiated in the fixed and mobile spaces of transnational mobility networks in the age of industrialization. Using the interiors of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits, she will analyze the interrelation of identity, technology, comfort and architecture.

We wish you an inspiring and productive time at our faculty and look forward to working with you.
