We are looking for a student employee (Fachhochschule Dortmund/TU Dortmund) from 01.09.2025 for the position of coordinator of the library's student team as well as for supervision and support activities during the extended library opening hours.


Tasks:

  • Scheduling and absence management of student employees
  • Organization of internal communication with all student employees via MS Teams
  • Stand-in for all library locations in case of vacation and illness
  • Supervision and control of the premises
  • Providing information both on site and by telephone
  • Assistance with the operation of the library's technical equipment (e.g. self-checkout machines)
  • Issue and return of non-book materials against a deposit
  • Tidying work
  • Closing the library with the support of the porters


General conditions:

  • Recruitment as a mini-job (556 euros per month), classified according to TV-L, pay group 3
  • Contract term: 01.09.2025 - 28.02.2026
  • Average working hours: approx. 7 hours per week (50% coordination, 50% on-site deployment as a stand-in)
  • The assignment is based on a weekly rota; the working hours vary
  • Work locations: all three library locations (Emil-Figge-Str. 44, Sonnenstr. 96, Max-Ophüls-Platz 2)
  • Working hours during the lecture period:
    Monday-Thursday

    16:45-19:45 (location Emil-Figge-Str. 44)

    15:45-18:45 (locations Sonnenstraße & Max-Ophüls-Platz)

    Friday 14:45-17:45
    Saturday 13:15-16:15 (Emil-Figge-Str. 44 location only)
  • Working hours during the semester break:
    Monday-Thursday 15:45-18:45
    Friday 14:45-18:45
  • Deviations may occur selectively.


Requirements profile:

  • high flexibility
  • High sense of responsibility
  • Helpfulness & service orientation
  • Knowledge of MS Teams is an advantage
  • Knowledge of work organization is an advantage
  • Fluent written and spoken German
