What role does artificial intelligence already play in companies today? And how should computer science degree courses develop in order to best prepare graduates for an increasingly AI-influenced working world?
These were the questions addressed by the sixth meeting of the Agile Advisory Board of the Faculty of Computer Science at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts at its meeting on March 19, 2026.
Valuable input was provided by Frank Meyfarth (adesso SE), Stefan Slooten (Smart Mechatronics GmbH) and Rafael Kutz (Kirchhoff Ecotec GmbH). Using concrete examples, they showed how diverse and practical AI is already being used in companies.
Sven Jörges and Kim Lauenroth provided insights into the faculty's current strategic considerations. The subsequent exchange focused in particular on how AI can be specifically integrated into the study programs and which content will take a back seat in the future.
