Profiles in the degree programs

TaSK - Theater as Social Art

Certified profile: Theater as a Social Art (TaSK)

Important Note: This program is currently on hold—therefore, new students cannot be admitted at this time!

Since the winter semester of 2004, students interested in the field of “Theater in Social Contexts” have been able to participate in a certified “Theater Education” specialization program as part of the Bachelor’s program in Social Work. In the winter semester of 2014, the specialized track was relaunched under the title “Theater as a Social Art—TaSK.” At the end of the program, students in the TaSK specialized track receive an additional certificate as a “Theater Educator (Basic Training according to BUT).” The designation “BUT” means that this training is recognized by a national professional association (Federal Association for Theater Education). The foundational training is registered with the employment agencies (ZBF/Central Placement Office for Stage, Film, and Cultural Education) and can be listed as an additional professional qualification on job applications.

The foundational training also serves as a transferable module toward the full training program to become a theater educator, which can be completed at various institutions and universities of applied sciences. The full training program “Theater Educator/BUT” is comparable to a college degree.
 An overview of the specialized program and how it fits into the Social Work degree program can be found below. If you are interested, please contact Prof. Dr. Norma Köhler(Opens in a new tab)  during her office hours or via email for further information.

Certificates: Specialization in studies

A certificate is a meaningful combination of courses over the entire course of study. It is put together individually by the students. Such a "series of courses" serves to specialize students in certain professional fields within social work.

You can find out which courses belong to a certificate in the annotated course catalog. In contrast to the Z-Profile (TaSK), no recognized certificates are acquired. There is no entitlement to special courses.

Overview of certificates

Z1 = Certificate "Help for children, young people and their families"
Z2 = "School social work" certificate
Z4 = Certificate "Help for offenders"
Z5 = "Migration law" certificate
