Chancellor's scholarship to German prisons

Riolia Mascarenhas is at Fachhochschule Dortmund on a Chancellor's Scholarship. The 29-year-old scientist from Mumbai (India) explicitly chose the UAS to further her research on social work in prisons.

In Professor Christine Graebsch, she found the perfect mentor for her topic in Dortmund. Supported by UAS students, she spent a year collecting different perspectives from German prisons. At the same time, she shares her experiences from India. Read more about Riolia Mascarenhas' work here.(Opens in a new tab)

Speaking of prison: there is currently a worthwhile mini-series in the ARD media library. In "A Better Place", all prisoners are released. Social work instead of punishment. Can that work? Christine Graebsch accompanied the series scientifically. In addition to a guest appearance by the professor, there are certain parallels with one of the main characters.
