Prof. Dr. Darius Schippritt combines computer science with medicine

Prof. Dr. Darius Schippritt: In my teaching, I attach great importance to practical relevance. Specifically, I always make sure that the content of lectures, exercises and practicals is taught in a way that is actually needed in practice. Where possible, I even carry out real projects with Business Studies during the course.

Prof. Dr. Darius Schippritt: Even before my studies, I was interested in both medicine and computer science. In this respect, studying medical informatics was the ideal combination of these two fields. When I understood during my studies what is already possible today and what will soon be possible, it was clear to me that I didn't want to do anything else.

Prof. Dr. Darius Schippritt: Medical Informatics (MI) is an incredibly exciting field. It's where medicine, computer science and business come together. Regardless of whether we "just" want to develop cool software, help people or earn money - anything is possible with MI. The technical developments of recent and coming years make medicine and medical informatics a future market that will have a decisive impact on all our lives.
