At the world's largest medical technology trade fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf, Fachhochschule Dortmund presented the close links between teaching and research.

At the joint state stand, Prof. Dr. Thomas Felderhoff and a team from the Faculty of Information Technology also welcomed Gonca Türkeli-Dehnert, State Secretary in the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs. "She was particularly interested in the results of our research projects and how we manage to find qualified employees for research from our faculty," reports Thomas Felderhoff. "On this occasion, we were able to give her a deep insight into the qualifications of our students for current and future topics in the medical technology job market."

During the days of the trade fair from November 13 to 16, 2023, the FH team repeatedly engaged in close discussions with MEDICA visitors. This often involved details about the content of the Biomedical Engineering(Opens in a new tab)  (Bachelor) and Biomedical Information Technology(Opens in a new tab)  (Master) study programs. Other topics included the possibilities of the practical semester and the awarding of theses in cooperation with companies as well as the opportunities to work on topics together.
