Who or what do we stand up for?
The museum is aimed at children aged 3-12 and their families. Global learning,
education for sustainable development and transcultural topics are fields that we make tangible through the exhibits in our "Basic Needs" collection. The exhibition is playable in all parts and invites children to understand, explore and invent.
How do we do that?
We are supported by an association and, as a socio-cultural player, are important for the city of Dortmund. Our bookable programs for schools, daycare centers and families include language education, democracy education, children's rights and sustainability.
Free hands-on activities for our visitors offer low-threshold access to our exhibitions.
We are committed, welcoming and do not charge admission.
How can you get involved?
Volunteers are a great support for us, especially when it comes to looking after visitors during the week and at weekends.
Communicative personalities with an open-minded attitude and people with a talent for manual work are always welcome as employees.
Administrative work is also carried out by dedicated volunteers.
volunteers. We are currently looking for skilled craftspeople who enjoy repairing, tinkering and inventing, as things always get broken in our exhibitions when they are very busy.
What opportunities are there to get involved with us?
permanent
What can we always use - what do we need?
We primarily need monetary donations to replace the consumables for our hands-on activities. But donations in kind such as glue, timber or IT hardware are also welcome.
