Who or what do we stand up for?
At Kana, we believe that everyone has the right to have a roof over their head, to sit in a quiet place, to have something warm to eat and drink and to experience respect and consideration. Everyone is welcome in our rooms, no one has to identify themselves or show that they are in need. By sharing a meal, we pass on what we have been given and are delighted when our guests feel comfortable.
How do we do that?
We serve food to our guests from 12:00-14:00 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. We prepare the food, peel potatoes, cut bread and set the tables from 8:00 am. We then serve the guests at the table during our opening hours. After serving the food, all helpers clean our premises together until approx. 15:00.
How can you get involved?
We are urgently looking for people for our opening days, especially for preparing, serving and cleaning the soup kitchen. We are also looking for people who can imagine cooking for our guests. We welcome every helping hand, whether for half a day or a whole day, weekly, monthly or just occasionally.

In winter, donations of sleeping bags and sleeping mats are also important so that we can hand them out to our guests.
