Prof. Dr. Paul Schneider lives and teaches change

Prof. Dr. Paul Schneider: Where else, if not in the context of business informatics and digital transformation, are there such diverse and interesting changes taking place all the time? The new opportunities and challenges of generative AI are just one example. Together with the students, I would like to interpret and analyze such changes and try to derive any implications.

Prof. Dr. Paul Schneider: In view of the current political situation in Germany and the world, one question seems to me to be more important than ever: how can we encourage people - politicians from different parties or heads of government from different nations - to put aside individual sensitivities and interests in favour of the big picture and reach compromises? Translated to organizations and a little more concretely: How can we, for example in large transformation projects, break down silo thinking and encourage employees to collaborate?

Prof. Dr. Paul Schneider: I have often recommended the book "Factfulness" by the now deceased researcher Hans Rosling and have already given it away several times. He shows how our view of the world is often shaped by exaggerated fears and false assumptions and uses data and facts to explain why the world is better than we think in many areas. Key message: facts help! Rosling also gives recommendations on how we can make more fact-based assessments, decisions and actions.
